Ekaterina Gordeeva is a retired Russian figure skater who competed in pairs skating. She was born on May 28, 1971, in Moscow, Russia.
Gordeeva is best known for her partnership with her late husband, Sergei Grinkov. The pair began skating together in 1982 and quickly became one of the most successful pairs teams in the world. They won numerous gold medals at World Championships, European Championships, and the Olympic Games.
Tragically, Grinkov passed away in 1995 from a heart attack during a practice session, leaving Gordeeva devastated. She eventually continued skating, both as a solo competitor and in pairs with other partners, but eventually retired from competitive skating in 2002.
Gordeeva has since become a coach and television commentator, as well as an author. She has written books about her life and her journey in figure skating, including "My Sergei: A Love Story" and "A Letter for Daria." She has two daughters, Daria and Elizaveta, from her marriage to Grinkov.
